How did you guys meet?
It was late on a dark winter night at Clery’s Bar. Interesting banter was conversed, drinks were nursed, names were confused, handshakes were exchanged.
We actually met on, gasp, the internet. Neither of us expected to meet a normal person when we showed up at Clery’s on that March Thursday night, but we were both pleasantly surprised, including Bridget happily learning that Bryan didn’t have weird teeth and wasn’t bald and Bryan relieved to discover that Bridget had no desire to make out with famous pro athletes from the Boston area.
Despite each of us making some gaffs (Bryan forgetting Bridget’s name, Bridget shaking Bryan’s hand at the conclusion and saying “nice to meet you”), both of us were excited and happy that we hadn’t spent two hours feigning interest with a weird internet stalker (see above paragraph for past experiences). Instead, both walked away that night excited about what may lay ahead!

How did he propose?
Bryan shocked Bridget with a Valentine’s Day proposal at the Museum of Fine Arts. Bridget loves art, Bryan loves Bridget. It seemed to make sense!
It was an unseasonably warm February day and Bryan’s well-strategized plan was to propose outside, in a private garden at the MFA. Of course, there were still 10 inches of snow on the ground, which meant that the garden was closed! Bryan did the next most romantic thing: propose in front of a wedding casket in a small room of antiquities. Here is the event, paraphrased for your enjoyment…
Bridget: “Oooh look, a wedding casket.”
Bryan: “Nice you like weddings, right?!?”
Bridget: “I wonder what it is.”
Bryan: “You do like weddings, don’t you?”
Bridget: Of course!
Bryan, taking out the stick figure drawing of him proposing, then the ring and going to his knee: “Uh, uh, will you marry me?”
Bridget, putting her hands over her mouth (you all know what I’m talking about): “YES!”
After a celebratory pint at our first date location (Clery’s), where we informed our parents of the good news and Bryan’s mother let out a huge sigh of relief, we headed to Beehive where 30 of our friends and family surprised us, thanks to the efforts of the Kelty sisters!

What are our professions?
Bridget is the Director of Product Development at CSNStores.com. If you need a new couch, a lovely new coffin, or some high-powered binoculars, CSNStores is your place! Bridget plays a big part in creating the website interface that helped all of our moms learn how to use the internet.
Bryan is General Counsel of LifePlans, Inc., which provides various services to long-term care insurers. Bryan is still trying to figure out why any person or organization would want counsel from him, but when he’s not doing that, he’s busy drafting any number of contracts, writing policies and procedures that, among other things, prohibit employees from buying furniture from CSNStores website during work hours, and being the least liked person in the office (because he makes business people comply with pesky laws and regulations).

Do you have a pet?
Thanks, we thought you’d never ask. We currently have two hounds: Mia, a four year old Siberian Husky and Maeby, an eight year old doberman mix. Mia is the young, energetic scrapper that loves to mix it up. When she’s not shedding everywhere, or trying to take tennis balls from rival dogs, she is usually harassing her older dog sister, trying to get Maeby to play. As the crotchety old woman of the pack, Maeby very rarely indulges Mia, instead opting to lay on the couch. In the summer, she also enjoys romping through a bag of trash and eating dirt in the park.
They are perfect foils to each other and we love our little family (yes, we are both crazy dog people). Come by and see them when you’re in Boston next June. They would love to meet you and, hey, you can take them for a walk for us (we’re going to be real busy)!

Which is better, the University of Kentucky or Boston College?
A century’s old debate that will continue to rage on in our household for years to come. On the onehand, you have the valued Jesuit traditions, an impressive academic reputation, and a hockey powerhouse. On the other, you have the greatest college basketball program ever and a fine public institution in its own right.
As Bryan is writing this before he is actually married, he’s going to say BC (but be sure to check back on June 10, 2012 when he is married)!
